April 2008 trip to Cebu in the Philippines. We stayed at the Kasai Beach Resort and all diving was from here on traditional "banca boats" . All the diving was along the MoalBoal coast. Mainly wall and reef sites , except the 'Sunken Island' which a few of us had the opportunity to dive (4 knot currents on a small plateau out in the middle of the straight). Moalboal has been a diving Mecca since the early 1980's and it is still considered one of the best places for diving in the Philippines.
December
2007 trip to the Maldives. The Maldives is situated off the Western Seaboard
of Southern India stretching between the 7 degree meridian in the North to
just below the Equator in the South. The Atolls are actually the tips of a
submerged volcanic mountain range sculptured by the ocean currents and
overlaid with centuries of rich coral growth. Nutrient rich waters on the
West side create a perfect environment for the large plankton feeders such
as Manta Rays and Whale Sharks.
Geoff Cowap's Manta Ray video here.
Northern Red Sea route taking in the wrecks and reefs of the north.
Including sites such as :
WRECKS - The
wrecks at Abu Nuhas; Ghiannis D, Carnatic, Marcus. The Thistlegorm, Dunraven,
The Barge.
REEFS- Ras Mohammed, Ras Um Sid, Shag Rock and Ras Katty.

Based at Tofo beach near Inhambane and staying at the Barra Lodge 10 mins down the coast. 2 thnigs dominated the diving here : Whalesharks and Manta Rays ? Lots of snorkelling with Whalesharks each day and diving on 'Manta Reef'.
The holiday was split with one week in Mozambique and one week in Margate in South Africa. The travelling was separated by a 3 day excursion through the Kruger national park.
