Digital Underwater Photographer Speciality

One of PADI’s most popular diving specialty courses. It's easy and fun to capture great images of your underwater scuba adventures to share with your family and friends.

Ever wanted to take stunning, high quality photos to remember your amazing underwater experiences and encounters? This course is just for you. PADI’s most popular course for open water divers teaches you the ins and outs of digital underwater photography both in a classroom and a hands-on underwater environment. From learning the basics of capturing animal life and landforms to touching up your macro photography and editing skills, this course is aimed at anyone interested in improving their underwater photos.

You will start off by learning some underwater camera and editing techniques in the classroom before progressing to a confined water pool session to start practicing. Finally, you will join us for a day in open water to really put what you have learnt into practice on wrecks and marine life. With one of our great instructors you'll discover:

  • how to choose the right underwater camera system for you
  • the PADI SEA (Shoot, Examine, Adjust) method for getting great shots quickly
  • principles for good composition of underwater images
  • practical techniques to take – and then edit - great photos with your digital camera.

The PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course can also count towards one of the adventure dives for the Advanced Open Water course.

Capturing digital photos is a great way to relive your memories and underwater adventures, and with this course run by Oxford Dive Centre’s passionate photography instructors, you will be improving your techniques and taking great photos in no time.
